Water and Sanitation Interventions in Kibera

Today the CS Water and Irrigation Sicily Kariuki handed over 200pcs of Personal Protective Equipment’s to Mazingira Yetu for the clean-up exercise and restoration of Ngong River in Kibera.

Kibera Informal Setttlement interventions in collaboration Mazingira Yetu entails construction of 19 ablution blocks, unblocking, rehabilitation of manholes, extension of sewer line to Jamhuri Showground and laying of 18 km of water supply lines. The project is currently 75% complete and set to benefit more than 40,000 residents of Kibera also improving the quality of rivers within Kibera and the riparian ecosystem.
