Transition to Unified Business Permit: Nairobi County Implements No Cash Policy, Encourages Digital Payments

Nairobi County customers continue accessing services at the recently unveiled Customer Service Center at the City Hall Annex.

Said Governor Sakaja recently “I would like to inform Nairobians that going forward, we shall not accept any CASH payment. We will commence enforcement in February. No member of staff is allowed to conduct any enforcement in the month of January as we are using this month to allow for transition to the Unified Business Permit(UBP) regime.”
County Executive Finance Charles Kerich also emphasized that the Nairobi City County Government operates a NO CASH policy in revenue collection.

Said CEC Kerich, “Customers are advised to make their payments through the Nairobi City County Government Revenue collection accounts once they obtain their invoices. Customers may pay using
