Kitui County will undertake land adjudication and titling in a plan set to have 100,000 title deeds issued to residents in the next 6 months – Lands PS Dr. Nicholas Muraguri has said. Speaking at Katse in Mwingi North Sub county today, the PS said the partnership between the national and the county government will see the residents receive title deeds without fee.
He said the National Ministry of Lands had directed officials to fast-track adjudication and issuance of titles to solve issues of land confrontations over ownership after today’s launch. She said processing of title deeds was one way of setting base for property ownership in the county. The Governor further said her development plan for the county was alive and called on the county assembly to support her vision for the county.
“I have to deliver my pledges to the people, among them water. I urge the County Assembly to fast-track fund approval to enable development” she said.
