Kiraitu to Mentor Meru Youth as Next Generation of Leaders to Represent County Nationally Through Kingangi Movement

Governor Kiraitu Murungi has this morning returned to office to a rousing welcome from members of the public and ecstatic youth of the new King’ang’I Movement (KM) and the County Government Staff. The Governor expressed gratitude to Deputy Governor H.E. Titus Ntuchiu and entire County Staff who kept the Government going while he was away, and pledged reinvigorated resumption to the work of Making Meru Great. He announced his administration will spend the next one year to cover as much ground as possible in delivering more development and improving service delivery to the people of Meru. Governor Kiraitu noted that in addition to gains already achieved in water sector (more than 180 boreholes), youth (MYS), agriculture (NARIGP and other programs) where residents have been empowered and lives transformed, his government will strive to have delivered as much as ten times the previous regime.

He committed to empower the youth of Meru through King’ang’I Movement to help raise their political visibility and empower them economically so that they can actively participate in sharing of national cake as well as be fully involved in the political decision making at the national level. Governor Kiraitu said that he is prepared to mentor and uplift the youth of Meru through KM to take over as the next generation of leaders who will effectively represent the people Meru at the national level.
