Vandalism at Mama Ngina Waterfront, Mombasa
From @PDUDelivers
This is the newly revamped Mama Ngina Waterfront Project. It provides a modern recreational site for local & international visitors thereby promoting tourism. It will also enhance Mombasa oceanic waterfront view and serve as a conservatory for the coastal culture. Over and above its tourism offering, the Mama Ngina Waterfront Park spells better days for youth talent development in Mombasa County. This open theatre can accommodate over 500 youth. It has purposely been established to provide artists with a platform to showcase their talents.
There is a complete modern theatre adjacent to the park. The facility contains conference rooms, a cultural hall and business spaces. This Project cost Ksh. 433 million. It is now fully complete and operational. Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, officials have been forced to close access roads to the waterfront.
The Government urges the public to be responsible in the use of this facility and to desist from acts of vandalism that have been witnessed recently.
