Statement by Kamba Professionals on Wiper Party’s cooperation with Jubilee and KANU
Press Release – We, the undersigned Kamba professionals, do hereby strongly endorse the decision taken by H.E. Hon. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka and the Wiper Democratic Movement-Kenya leadership to seek political alliance and a working relationship with the ruling Jubilee Party led by President Uhuru Kenyatta and KANU Chairman Senator Gideon Moi respectively.
The move, aimed at fostering national unity and spurring socio-political and economic development, could not have come at a better time. We note with great satisfaction that this strategic move by the Wiper Leader is for the greater good of not only the Kamba community but the country as a whole.
As professionals from the wider Ukambani Region, we always bear the brunt of the decisions by our political leaders when our people get disadvantaged in terms of development projects. Most of the time the residents end up as the sufferers, hence, putting the burden on the professionals leaders. It is, therefore, befitting that prudent decisions, such as that taken by our political supremo Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka receive unequivocal endorsement by the region’s professionals, since development is, always invariably, a political process.
The history of the Kamba community has been one of loyalty to the Government of the day. Indeed, since independence the community has only witnessed tangible development projects when it has been properly aligned to the exigencies of the politics of the day. It is, therefore, with great joy that we give our full blessings and support to Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka as the senior-most Kamba leader in his endeavor to pursue an appropriate political working framework that will see the community fully inside the Government.
We commit our expertise and strategic organisational skills and acumen to ensure that the pursuit of this visionary political collaboration succeeds. The Akamba people are peace loving, and therefore, the pursuit of national unity is integral to the community’s historical ethos. No community can achieve sustainable development in isolation of other communities. Further, there can be no meaningful peace without peaceful engagements with other communities and, therefore, efforts towards alliances and collaboration with other communities and political parties, particularly the Ruling Party, is not only strategic, but wise.
As professional leaders from Ukambani we will continue to advise and collaborate with our political leaders for the sake of our community’s development. We, therefore, congratulate Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka for this initiative and assure him of our steadfast and unwavering support.
