Renovation works to begin at City Stadium

In line with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s directive to upgrade major sports facilities in the country, we have started efforts to renovate the iconic City Stadium.
Today, in the company of Chief Administrative Secretary Hon Hassan Noor Hassan, Sports PS Joe Okudo, Sports Kenya Chairman Fred Muteti, Athletics Kenya President Rtd Gen Jackson Tuwei, NOCK 1st Deputy President Shadrack Maluki, Ministry of Public Works officials including Chief Quantity Surveyor, Chief Architect, Chief Engineer(Electrical) and members of the Nairobi City County Sports Management Board, we inspected City Stadium ahead of renovation works that are set to kick off soon by my administration in conjunction with the National Government.
My administration will also upgrade other sports facilities across Nairobi in order to give our youth and sports teams an opportunity to nurture their talents and develop the sports sector which is giving many people employment opportunities.
