Proposed Kirinyaga County Peace and Reconciliation Team

Following extensive consultations on the need to refocus Kirinyaga County on service delivery to the people of Kirinyaga and upon the recommendation that we have peace initiative, I have accepted the following names of persons who have been proposed to oversee the peace and reconciliation process between the County Executive and the County Assembly.

The team as outlined below is composed of non-political and non-partisan respected leaders from Kirinyaga.

  1. J.S. Mathenge- Kirinyaga Elder/Former PS- Chairman
  2. Anthony Muheria – Arch Bishop
  3. Paul M. Maringa- PS Ministry of Transport
  4. Nancy Karigithu- PS
  5. Mary Kimonye- PS
  6. John Njira-ini- Former KRA Commissioner General
  7. Charles Ndegwa Mwai- Pastor Mwea

The team will come up with terms of engagement and convene reconciliation meetings between the executive the county assembly.

The County Executive remains focused on service delivery to the people of Kirinyaga and accomplishing the set development agenda in the next two years. We will ensure that the expectations and aspirations of our people remain the focus of our programs and projects so as to move the county higher.

UPDATE: JULY 4TH 2020 – PRESS RELEASE

Yesterday July 3, 2020 a list of proposed names of Kirinyaga Peace and Reconciliation team was shared with the public. The list of names shared is a proposal from the Kirinyaga County Executive.

Having listened to feedback shared on the above list and in consideration of the same, we wish to withdraw the proposed names to give room for further consultations.
