Ongoing Construction Works of the Norther Collector Tunnel Water Supply

Today the Director General of Nairobi Metropolitan Services inspected the ongoing construction of the Northern Collector Tunnel Water Supply System. The project entails construction of 11.8km underground tunnel that draws flood water from Maragua River, Gikigie River and Irati River.
The project is part of the Nairobi Water Master Plan to secure water supply for Nairobi City up to the year 2025. It will supply an additional 140 M litres/day of water to Nairobi and it’s environs, benefiting more than 1.2 million residents and currently 95% complete.
