MP John Waluke and Grace Wakhungu Found Guilty in National Cereal and Produce Board Scam
Big boost for the fight against corruption as the Courts find Grace Wakhungu and Hon. John Waluke guilty of corruption in the procurement of 40,000 metric tons of maize to the NCPB worth Kshs. 577M. A sum of Kshs. 297M had already been paid on the basis of the impugned contract.
Ms. Wakhungu was found guilty of uttering a false document – presenting a forged invoice during the arbitration proceedings which led to the arbitral award of Kshs. 297M, and of perjury – lying on oath during the arbitral proceedings.
Further Ms. Wakhungu, Hon. Waluke and their company Erad Suppliers and General Contracts were found guilty of fraudulently acquiring public property. Sentencing is scheduled for 25th June, 2020. Cash bail was cancelled and the accused are now remanded until the day of sentencing
