Mombasa County Beach Management Bill 2021 Undergoes Stakeholder Validation

Today the Department of Trade, Tourism and Investment held a Stakeholders Validation meeting for the Mombasa County Beach Management Bill, 2021 at the Governors office. The meeting was graced by the Ag. County Secretary, Mr. Joab Tumbo and Ms. Asha Abdi Ag. Chief Officer, Trade Tourism & Investment with attendance of stakeholders drawn from the Kenya Association of Hotel Keepers and Caterers ( KAHC), Kenya Coast Tourism Association( KCTA), Pubs, Entertainment and Restaurant Association of Kenya, Nyali Beach Operators as well as the legal team from the Office of the County Attorney and Mombasa County Assembly.
The objective of the bill is promotion of utilization of the beach resource through wholistic governance approach and promotion of order in our beaches to promote tourism and creation of employment.
As a department we are grateful for the great support and coordination that the Mombasa county tourism stakeholders have accorded us and we look forward to creating more policies that will help boost tourism in our region. As a County, we are committed to working with partners and stakeholders for the good of the residents of Mombasa.
