Mega GEMA BBI Rally in Meru
The anticipated Mega BBI rally in Meru for harmonization of Mt Kenya amendment proposals took place today at Kinoru stadium with many Kenyan citizens and politicians coming forth in solidarity of the Building Bridges Initiative. The rally, which received a countrywide attendance, addressed the issues of agriculture, governance and national revenue allocation to the county.
Every group represented supported the proposition of one man, one vote, one shilling to promote national revenue allocation according to population as opposed to landmass. The Gikuyu, Meru and Embu Association (GEMA) proposed an assurance of minimum guaranteed returns for all their agricultural produce. The peaceful rally demonstrated the perfect mission of the BBI which is to Build Bridges while maintaining the old ones.
With the GEMA proposals having been presented to Yusuf Hajji, the Chairman of the national BBI committee, Mt Kenya region stands to benefit fully from the initiative.
