Governor Kiraitu has raised concerns over increased public ignorance on covid-19 disease which has become a global concern. While he issued materials and equipment, today, to aid in preventing its spread in the county, the governor insisted everyone must be prepared for the unknown but all the same, tell the truth about the Coronavirus influx.

He intimated no county has adequate clinical capacity to handle the pandemic, hence the need for the nation to focus on preventive measures by obeying the curfew and quarantine rules. “Our best and only practical option is to prevent infection and the spread of coronavirus in Meru.” Asserted the Governor.

He asked the public and leaders not to reduce Corona virus to mere talks in quest for political visibility and malign others, but take a balance between the fear of death from Corona virus and economic survival of the people.

More than 500 hand washing water tanks will be placed in public areas in the wards while 80,000 face masks produced locally, distributed to the less fortunate, special interest groups, boda boda operators clinical officers and law enforcers. The governor spoke at county head office in company of members of the Meru Assembly, special interest groups representatives, and county administrative team.
