Kenya Police Reconditions Jomo Kenyatta’s Pre-Independence Car

Mzee Jomo Kenyatta admiring the Terraplane car he drove in the 1950s before his detention. The car was reconditioned by the Kenya Police and presented to him by Police Commissioner Bernard Hinga on 5th June 1972 at State House Nairobi.
The officials who joined the President in admiring his refurbished Terraplane, a car and model built in 1930s by Hudson Motor Car Company of Detroit, US, included Finance Minister Mwai Kibaki and Attorney General Charles Njonjo.
