Governor Kingi Distributes Relief Food

This afternoon, I presided over the distribution of 300 bags of maize and 100 bags of beans to residents of Ganze who have been affected by the ongoing drought, as a result of failed rains.

The ongoing drought, which was declared a national disaster by H.E. President Uhuru Kenyatta in September has ravaged 10 Counties so far, with Kilifi County being one of them.

As a Government, we have deployed all our resources under the Disaster Response docket to assist affected households with water and relief food as well as livestock uptake. Further, we will work closely with the National Government in coming up with comprehensive drought mitigation measures and ensure no life is lost due to hunger.
