Government to Upgrade Roads in Nairobi’s Informal Settlements

The Government plans to upgrade 408km of roads in Nairobi’s informal settlements and high-density areas to bitumen standards. The areas covered include Kibra, Mukuru, Mathare, Dagoretti, Dandora, Githurai, Korogocho/Ngomongo, Kasarani, and Roysambu.
CS Transport James Macharia took a tour to inspect the roads in Kibra and Dagoretti that the Government is planning to upgrade to bitumen standards. This is one of the emergency measures the Government is undertaking to improve accessibility to essential goods and services, including medical care, as it combats the COVID-19 pandemic.
