The Outgoing Siaya Public service Board (PSB) have urged the executive to embrace the spirit of consultations on matters of staff recruitment to tame squabbles that may derail service delivery.
The outgoing Chairman Mr. Joe Donde says that the board have succeeded in recruitment of staff to stabilise the county workforce with consultations resolving stalemates.
Donde while speaking at Siaya Governor’s Boardroom earlier today during the handing over of PSB documents to County Secretary Joseph Ogutu said that consultations is fundamental between the recruitment parties thereto.
The chairman who has served in the board for the past six years said they have laid down a structural foundation that has enhanced service delivery adding that they were ready to offer advise to the new board.
He further disclosed that every staff in the County was recruited on merit and as per the requirements of the departments through the office of the Country Secretary.
Hon. Donde was addressing the meeting that was chaired by County Secretary Joseph Ogutu and attended by Governance Executive Dismas Wakla, Chief Officer Joseph Omondi, outgoing board chief executive officer William Lubalo and a Board member Kut Ochogo.
He further asked the executive to expedite the policy processes so that the PSB can do its mandate as required in the law.
Mr. Ogutu on his part appreciated Hon. Donde and team for working tirelessly in the board to provide County staff of different carders.
“We wish all of you the best of luck as you endeavour to explore other opportunities but we shall be seeking for your advisory opinions on matters of public interest because of your experience and knowledge gathered over the years. …We also want to thank the outgoing board for its comprehensive reports and we intend to use the reports in answering few grey areas that concern employment of County staff,” — Mr. Ogutu.
The CS says the County Government purposes to follow up the strong recommendations issued to them verbally and captured in the reports so as to make good use of them for effective service delivery.
The outgoing Secretary to the Board, Mr. Lubalo will briefly be in office to midwife the handover process to the incoming team whose recruitment is on course.
