Dr Olunga of NMS Wins Fast Track Cities Awards

Nairobi Metropolitan Services awarded by Fast Track Cities Institute jointly with UNAIDS for exemplary performance in HIV/AIDS care especially in the areas of providing access to testing, enrolling those tested on treatment,ensuring full vital suppression for those on treatment. The Circle of Excellence Award,the first of its kind to an African City was handed to NMS Health Services Director Dr Ouma Olunga, in Lisbon, Portugal by Dr. Jose M. Zuniga, President and CEO of International Association of Providers of AIDS Care (IAPAC).
APAC is a global network of clinicians and allied health professionals working to end HIV epidemic. Bangkok, London, San Francisco, and São Paulo also received the award, reflecting regional excellence in efforts to accelerate urban HIV responses. Since its inception, NMS has contributed enormously to the capital’s health sector through partnership with local, national, and international stakeholders, making steady progress towards the aim of ending HIV epidemic by 2030.
