Diversifying Agriculture to Improve Livelihoods

We are implementing programs aimed at diversifying our agricultural activities to guarantee farmers good returns and transform their livelihoods, while at the same time cushioning them from the adverse climatic conditions.
The National Agricultural and Rural Inclusive Growth Project (NARIGP) provides the much-needed impetus for agricultural productivity and profitability, not only to promote food security among our people, but also encouraging local farmers to practice agribusiness.
I implore our farmers to take advantage of all these County Government initiatives on modern agricultural practices and value-addition in areas such as poultry, beekeeping, dairy and irrigation farming in order to ultimately convert their subsistence farming into commercial agriculture to improve their standard of living.
Issued cheques worth Ksh. 86,750,000 to Micro project investment groups of different value chains drawn from across the County.
