County Administration Awards Best Performance in 100 Days Rapid Result Initiative cycle

In a Rapid Result Initiative, RRI award ceremony graced by State Department for Public Service PS, Mary Kimonye today in Nkubu, Health department won the first phase of 100 day RRI, as Meru County Urban Water and Sanitation Corporation won among the Semi-Autonomas Government Agencies (SAGAs) category. The ranking was done in two categories for best achieved RRIs among the departments as well as the the SAGAs.
Environment and Natural Resources ministry scooped best achieved RRI award, with Water and Irrigation Ministry taking best crafted RRI. Equally, Education& Technology, Gender and Social Development ministry took the best teamwork award as the Gender & Social Development won the best crafted RRI among the directorates.
The motivation behind RRI is performance, creativity and problem solving, a management tool that was meant to plant a firm commitment in offering quality and timely services. According to the Governor, RRI is part of implementation of Meru Vision 2040 for social economic transformation. He however pressed the success of the initiative requires unquestionable integrity in resource utilization and more creative measures to avoid procedures that frustrate development.
PS Kimonye, was categorical that public service is about sacrifice, dignity and honor of public offices, adding that good performance is a motivation of ‘feel good’ factor. This, she thanked the governor for his humility, networking and foresight that has continually improved social economic plans for the county through medium term development plans as outlined in the Big Four agenda and Meru Vision 2040. Deputy Governor Titus Ntuchiu, appealed for entreating the RRI as well as linking it up to completion and utilization of projects.
