Churches Asked to Take Part in the BBI Process

The church has been urged to play key role in the ongoing discussions on the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) process, whose forums are already happening in various parts of the country.

Speaking today at Kambakia Christian Center during celebrations of 30 years since the church was founded, Chief of Staff Hon. Gideon Kimathi said that it is imperative the voice of the Church be part of the ongoing conversations on the BBI in order to provide moderation and sanity amid the political rhetoric. The founder of the Church which has since grown to more than 400 new subsidiaries, Pastor Edward Kirimi Buria, is also the Chairman of Meru Municipal Boad.

“The same way our Governor H.E. Kiraitu Murungi has united all other leaders in Meru County including Njuri Ncheke to speak in one voice, we call on our religious leaders to unite and take their place in the BBI process. We expect the outcome of this process to solve the historical problems which have affected our country’s economy every five after elections, and the input of the church will be very valuable in achieving this goal,” — Chief of Staff Hon. Gideon Kimathi

These sentiments were echoed by other leaders who accompanied Hon. Kimathi at the function, who included North Imenti administrator Anderson Kathendu, County Director of Enforcement Mr. Mutethia, political activist Edwin Kiongozi, among others.
