New EACC CEO Abdi Mohamud Sworn into Office

Newly appointed Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)𝗠𝗿. 𝗔𝗯𝗱𝗶 𝗔𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗺𝘂𝗱, 𝗠𝗕𝗦 has been sworn into office. He assumes office replacing former CEO Twalib Mbarak who exited the Commission on Friday, 10th January, 2025, upon expiry of his 6 year term.

Mr. Mohamud took his oath of office earlier today before the Honourable 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗮 𝗞𝗼𝗼𝗺𝗲 at the Supreme Court. In his remarks, the CEO committed to reinvigorate existing anti-corruption strategies and enlist the support and participation of key actors especially the youth.

“As I assume the Office today, I am acutely aware of the huge responsibility and expectations Kenyans bestow upon the Commission. Further, I am cognizant of the adverse effects of corruption to the well-being of a nation. In that regard, I wish to offer my unequivocal commitment and fidelity to the oath of Office that I subscribed to, in combating corruption, economic crime and unethical conduct in the country,” the new CEO said.

The ceremony was attended by senior EACC Officials led by 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗿. 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗱 𝗢𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲, Chairperson of the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee of the National Assembly (JLAC), 𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗚𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝗿𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗮, Director of Criminal Investigations, 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗜. 𝗔𝗺𝗶𝗻, Deputy Inspector General Kenya Police Service 𝗠𝗿. 𝗘𝗹𝗶𝘂𝗱 𝗟𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘁 and 𝗠𝗿. 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘆𝘀 𝗞𝗲𝗺𝗼, Ag. Secretary of Public Prosecutions representing the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗮,𝗢𝗚𝗪, 𝗖𝗕𝗦.
