Kibra Constituency By-Election: Nomination of Jubilee Party Candidate

In compliance with the Jubilee Party Constitution, once the Kibra Constituency Parliamentary seat was declared vacant after the untimely demise of the late Hon. Ken. Okoth, the Party Secretary-General invited all interested parties to submit their expressions of interest in contesting the seat on a Jubilee Party ticket along with the requisite credentials.
A total of 16 applicants expressed interest in vying for the position of Member of Parliament for Kibra Constituency. On 2nd September 2019, the National Elections Board met each of the aspirants and conducted in-depth interviews with a view to understanding the vision and aspirations of each aspirant for the great people of Kibra. The NEB also sought to establish each candidate’s clarity of alignment with the Jubilee Party Manifesto and to assess their ability to facilitate delivery of the mandate of the party, not only in Kibra, but also on the national stage.
I am pleased to announce that the above due process has yielded for the Jubilee Party a candidate of impeccable character and credentials, a candidate who has has enduring connections with the people of Kibra as he hails from Karanja and most importantly a candidate who has demonstrated the energy, passion and zeal to not only lead by example with humility, but also to deliver a timeless and transformative legacy for the people of Kibra.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I have the honour to present to you Mr. MacDonald Mariga Wanyama as the Jubilee candidate for the position to Parliament for Kibra Constituency. We wish to sincerely thank all the aspirants for their interest in nurturing the advancement of the people of Kibra and we look forward to working with all the candidates in our unified purpose of delivering this Parliamentary seat for the benefit of our people.
