Hosted British High Commissioner to Kenya Her Excellency, Jane Marriot and her entourage when they called on me this afternoon. Our discussions centred on North East Development Initiative; the drought situation and food security in ASALs; and
Generation Equality Forum.
The UK Government is keen on strengthening the engagement with northern counties and working together with ASALs to tackle poverty and improve security. Kenya and UK also have a cordial bilateral working relationship on gender equality and women empowerment matters. I look forward to continued partnership and collaboration.
