Joint Petition on Missing Persons Delivered to National Police Service

Today, 10th November at around 12:00 hours, a joint petition addressed to the Hon. Attorney General, the Speaker of the National Assembly and the Inspector General was presented by the Council of the Law Society of Kenya and the Branch Chairperson Caucus to Police Spokesperson Mr. Bruno Isohi Shioso on behalf of the Inspector General of the National Police Service. Brief remarks were made by LSK CEO Ms Mercy K. Wambua, representatives of Amnesty International (K) Mr. Irungu Houghton and SUPKEM respectfully touching on missing persons, security and rights of advocates to represent clients, and collaboration between LSK, civil organization and Police on disappearance of persons.
Police spokesperson responded by thanking the procession for orderly and peaceful conduct, and stressed the role of the police towards protection of lives and properties. He assured them of police concern on all cases of missing persons and effort to trace and reunite them with their beloved ones unharmed.
