I together with Governors from the South Eastern Kenya Economic Bloc (SEKEB); Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni), Dr. Alfred Mutua (Machakos) and a host of technical officers are visiting Kansas City USA for a Trade Forum and regional development tour. This visit, organized in partnership with The World Trade Centre – Kansas City, University of Central Missouri and Global Classroom Exchange seeks to explore potential trade and development partnerships with companies and organizations from Kansas and Missouri states.
We are exploring investments in health, agriculture, manufacturing, mining, ICT, education, and finance sectors which pose huge untapped potential capable of creating massive wealth and job opportunities for the Kamba region.
On Wednesday we had a round table discussion with interested investors in health, agriculture, and energy. We also visited the Missouri Innovation Campus for a demonstration of a unique program that equips high school and graduate students with work place-based skills. High school students are exposed to opportunities to innovate solutions to existing challenges and the courses earn them credit hours that are exempted when one joins university.
We also paid a visit to a livestock production site and we too lessons on how technology can transform livestock farming in the SEKEB region into a multi-billion venture.
