Kananu Joins the First Lady of Kenya for the Opening Ceremony of World Athletics Under-20 Championships

Nairobi City County Deputy Governor and Acting Governor H. E Ann Kananu Mwenda today joined the First Lady of the Republic of Kenya H.E  Margret Kenyatta, World Athletics President Sebastian Coe, World Athletics Under 20 Secretariat CEO, Michael Rabar, PS Sports Joe Okudo and Athletics Kenya President General Jackson Tuwei for the opening ceremony of the World Athletics Under- 20 Championships NAIROBI-21 at the Kasarani Stadium.

H.E Ann Kananu expressed her gratitude to the world Athletics for giving Nairobi City an opportunity to host the World Athletics which she termed as a first of its kind in Africa. Said H. E Ann Kananu, “I hope you will all enjoy the great hospitality Kenya has to offer. I encourage you all to take your time and tour Nairobi National Park.”

Participants are drawn from over 100 countries in the World. The event runs from 18th August to 22nd August 2021.
