CS Amina Mohamed on Inspection Tour of Kenyatta Stadium

This afternoon the C.S for Sports Amb.Amina Mohamed accompanied by the Deputy Governor for Kisumu Dr. Mathew Owili led a host of officials on a tour of inspection of the ongoing construction of the Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium in Mamboleo, Kisumu.

The stadium is one of three facilities commissioned for construction last October by H.E. President Uhuru Kenyatta at a ceremony where he was accompanied by the Rt.Hon.Raila Amolo Odinga. The others are Uhuru Business Park and the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Sports complex.

Once completed it is expected that the 20,000-seater stadium will not only boost sports but also spur massive economic growth in and around the Lake Region Economic Bloc.

The stadium will feature facilities for football, rugby, tennis, hockey among other disciplines.

Accompanying the CS. were Sports PS Joe Okudo, the Regional Commissioner Magu Mutindika and County Commissioner Madam Josephine Ouko among others.
