Senate Committee Concludes Hearings on Wajir County Governor

The Special Committee on the proposed Removal from Office, by impeachment, of Mohamed Abdi Mohamud the Governor of Wajir County will conclude its public hearing today. Chaired by Sen Okong’o Omogeni, the 11- member house team on Wednesday began its hearings. Charges levelled against the County Chief by the Wajir ward representatives include among others; gross violation of the Constitution and subsidiary laws, as well as abuse of office and gross misconduct.
After hearing the evidence from Governor Mohamud, the committee will retreat to consider and adopt the report on Friday before tabling it in the House on Monday, May 17, 2021.
