Earlier today, [Governor Alfred Mutua] chaired a cabinet meeting at the Governor’s mansion in Machakos. The meeting approved several policy papers and measures geared towards improving service delivery, eliminating wastage of public resources and fighting corruption. The measures also aim at ensuring sustainability in development planning, implementation and maintenance. Among the policies discussed and approved include –
- The adoption of a management strategy aimed at reducing the annual wage bill.
- Machakos County Corruption Prevention policy focusing on mitigating and handling corruption incidents within the County.
- Machakos County citizen development feedback and complaints handling mechanisms and establishing structures for receiving and processing feedback from public.
- Machakos County Development Planning and Implementation Policy whose objective is to ensure inclusive development right from the grassroots.
I reiterate my personal commitment and that of my government to serve the people of Machakos with dedication. We commit to ensure we roll back poverty and improve the quality of life for our people. I will soon be announcing specific socio-economic interventions to guarantee a major boost to our women, youth and business community given the current difficult post-Covid economic times. — Governor of Machakos County Dr Alfred Mutua
