Fire-Fighting Continues in Tsavo National Park

[CS Najibala expressed his appreciation for] the immense support from various government agencies and partners in fighting to extinguish the Tsavo fire. By 10.00pm last night, the interagency team had managed to contain the fire. However the strong winds re-ignited it.

Currently the teams are extinguishing the fire at Murka area in Tsavo West. We hope to completely extinguish it any time from now. Both aerial and ground teams have been mobilized, with graders, water bowsers and fire engines at site to augment the efforts.
