Appointment of a Task Force on the Nairobi National Park and Athi-Kapiti Plains Wildlife Corridors

The Cabinet Secretary of Tourism and Wildlife, Hon. Najib Balala, has appointed a Task Force on the Nairobi National Park and Athi-Kapiti Plains Wildlife Corridor. The 10 appointed members are:

- Caroline Nkamunu Patita- Member
- Bernard Opaa- Member
- Nobby Macharia- Member
- Dr. Joseph Mbyati Mukeka- Joint Secretary
- Bernard Njuguna Ngoru- Joint Secretary
- Raphael Kiplagat Meli- Joint Secretary
The Taskforce will collate, collect and compile relevant data and information on the connectivity of Nairobi National Park to Athi-Kapiti Plains and other neighbouring ranches and develop an implementation strategy for the connectivity with clear recommendations for the government to adopt.
Among others, the Taskforce is to establish the viability of Athi-Kapiti Plains and other neighbouring ranches as dispersal areas for wildlife from Nairobi National Park.
The terms of office for the Taskforce shall be 60 days from the date of publication of the notice; provided that the Taskforce shall submit to the Cabinet Secretary an interim report within seven (7) days after lapse of term of office.
