Kitui county Government administrators have been challenged to take lead and champion effective service delivery to residents across the county. Addressing the Sub county, ward and village administrators at Kitui County Textile Centre today during a day’s capacity building program, Governor Charity Ngilu said the sustainability of the milestones her leadership had realized on Food security, Universal Healthcare, water provision and other key areas of her manifesto hugely depend on their unity and focus to better the lives of the residents.
“As leaders, we must remain sensitive to the needs of the residents and must focus on the shared mandate to eliminate poverty in Kitui” she said.
The Governor said administrators must remain agents of positive change in service delivery calling on them to influence development in their respective areas. She restated her commitment to develop the county in a way that seeks to embrace a comprehensive shift through life transformation in small but impacting ways.
“My government will invest on improving the county’s health sector as a key area in the county’s productivity. We will avail more ambulances to facilities to enhance lifesaving in cases of emergencies” Ngilu said.
She challenged them to assess their output at work and aim at leaving a positive legacy after serving Kitui people. The meeting comes at a time when the county is on the verge to advance the honey production sector, uniform manufacturing, food production, abattoir construction and health service delivery among other areas.
