Nandi County Adds ICU Beds Kapsabet County Referral and Nandi Hills Hospitals

The establishment of Intensive Care Units (ICU) facilities with seven ICU beds at Kapsabet County Referral Hospital and 3 ICU beds in Nandi Hills Hospital have been completed. These 10 ICU beds are ready for use. The County has also procured an additional 5 ICU beds which will be available in a month’s time.
The move is aimed at escalating our preparedness towards handling COVID-19 in the county. With four positive cases already confirmed and over 50 samples taken for testing from the contacts, the County has set up 312 isolation beds across our health facilities to further bolster our preparedness.
This has enabled the County to meet the directive the Ministry of Health that every county establishes 300 bed capacity isolation facilities. We urge the public to continue observing the COVID-19 containment measures set out by the Ministry of Health.
