Uhuru Commissions Five Passenger Trains for Nairobi Commuter Service

This morning H.E. President Uhuru Kenyatta commissioned 5 Diesel Multiple Units (passenger trains) that will operate from Nairobi Central Station to Ruiru, Athi-River, Embakasi Village and Kikuyu. This is part of a larger undertaking to revamp the Nairobi Commuter Rail network.

The President also launched the Kenya Railways Transit Shed, a customs facility located at Kenya Railways Nairobi Bomaline Yard. This facility will assist in decongesting Nairobi Inland Container Depot, and also bring Government services closer to small-scale traders. — CS Tranport James Macharia
